Most farms slow down a little during the winter. We are no exception. A lot of our time is spent talking, planning, repairing and keeping water thawed. In order to have another batch of pork ready in the Spring, the pigs have to grow now. New pigs arrived a few weeks ago.
We had a great crop of squash left over this fall. These pigs enjoy running around their field and eating the squash.

How long does it take for a pig to grow to market size?
Our pigs are a part of the slow food movement. This means we do not give them anything artificial to speed up their growth. Our pigs are usually about six to seven months old when they are ready for market
