Brighton Farmer’s Market
The Brighton Farmers’ Market attracts thousands of people to the downtown Millpond area to purchase the fresh fruits and vegetables, the tasty breads, organic honey, and an array of crafts, jewelry and flowers and plants for the garden.
Coming to Brighton’s Saturday markets is more than shopping. You can make a full morning of it. Start with coffee and pastries at one of several downtown coffee houses and or enjoy a full breakfast at one of the restaurants. Then pick your farm grown items and chat with the venders to learn the best ways to preserve and cook their crops. Flower and plant venders can provide you with tips to help their plants thrive as you select things to add to your garden.
Nibble as you shop, rest on a bench beside the millpond as your children play in the Imagination Station, and then cross the tridge* to take a pleasant hike along the millpond’s boardwalk. You’ll see ducks, swans and very industrious muskrats and can take sidetrips to the Dairy Queen, more coffee shops, boutiques and have a pizza lunch.
Who could ask for a better way to begin a weekend of relaxation?
*The tridge is a bridge over the millpond with three land points instead of the traditional two.
